Quick Answer
In the first five days of October 2026, 34 of the roughly 63 Vermont dispensaries we track with real flower pricing changed their average price per gram by at least $0.25/g. The biggest cut was Castle Cannabis, down $2.72/g (from $11.80 to $9.08, −23%), followed by Notch Nugs (−$1.83/g) and Theory Wellness (−$1.30/g). The biggest increase was VT Strong, up $1.18/g (+23%). The statewide average held nearly flat at $9.64/g, so the movement is happening shop-by-shop, not across the whole market. These are advertised menu figures from our daily tracker, not point-of-sale data.
Look at the statewide number and nothing happened this week: the average price of flower across the Vermont dispensaries we track barely moved, from about $9.69/g to $9.64/g between October 1 and October 5, 2026. But that flat line is hiding a lot of motion. Because we snapshot every tracked menu once a day, we can pull the cover off the average — and underneath it, 34 of the roughly 63 shops with real flower pricing changed their average by at least $0.25/g in just five days. Here's who moved, and by how much.
The one-line read: the market didn't get cheaper or pricier overall — it churned. A third of shops repriced, with a handful cutting hard and a handful raising, so the "average" tells you almost nothing about what you'd pay at a specific store this week. All figures below are advertised menu prices from our daily tracker, not point-of-sale data.
The biggest price cuts (October 1 → October 5)
These shops dropped their average flower price per gram the most over the five-day window. Note that the largest moves were gradual multi-day slides, not single-day glitches — Castle, for example, stepped down $11.80 → $11.63 → $10.32 → $9.08 before holding.
| Dispensary | Oct 1 avg $/g | Oct 5 avg $/g | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Castle Cannabis | $11.80 | $9.08 | −$2.72 (−23%) |
| Notch Nugs | $7.96 | $6.13 | −$1.83 (−23%) |
| The Tea House | $11.72 | $10.33 | −$1.39 (−12%) |
| Cambridge Cannabis Company | $12.92 | $11.62 | −$1.30 (−10%) |
| Theory Wellness | $8.03 | $6.73 | −$1.30 (−16%) |
| Hello, Hi | $11.26 | $10.10 | −$1.16 (−10%) |
| Devil's Den | $10.37 | $9.28 | −$1.09 (−11%) |
Theory Wellness is the cleanest trend of the group — a four-step decline ($8.03 → $7.72 → $7.27 → $6.73) with no reversal, the kind of steady repricing that reads like an intentional menu shift rather than noise.
The biggest price increases
Not everyone cut. Several shops moved the other way — and the single largest percentage move of the whole board was an increase.
| Dispensary | Oct 1 avg $/g | Oct 5 avg $/g | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| VT Strong | $5.11 | $6.29 | +$1.18 (+23%) |
| DePot Shop | $7.55 | $8.67 | +$1.12 (+15%) |
| Green Leaf Central | $5.38 | $6.28 | +$0.90 (+17%) |
| Sunday Drive | $8.94 | $9.79 | +$0.85 (+10%) |
| Garcia's Cannabis Collective | $10.49 | $11.26 | +$0.77 (+7%) |
Interestingly, two of the biggest risers — VT Strong and Green Leaf Central — started the month as some of the lowest-priced shops on the board, so even after their increases they remain well under the statewide average.
Why the "average" lies to shoppers
The takeaway isn't the $9.64/g headline — it's the spread of movement beneath it. When Castle drops $2.72/g in the same week VT Strong adds $1.18/g, the two cancel out in the average while the actual shelf a shopper sees looks completely different depending on which door they walk through. For context on the static range, the cheapest tracked shop this week averages about $3.74/g (Best Buds) and the priciest about $13.69/g (Mary Jane Junction) — a roughly $4–$14/g band across Vermont.

How we track this
We capture the public, advertised menus of the Vermont dispensaries we cover once a day and compute each shop's average flower price per gram from its in-stock listings, then compare day-over-day. "Moved" here means an average change of at least $0.25/g over the five-day window, which filters out rounding noise. A small number of shops with penny-priced placeholder listings are excluded so a single $0.93/g artifact doesn't masquerade as the cheapest flower in the state. These are advertised menu figures — a reflection of what shops are listing, not what they sold. We're a market-intel tracker, not a licensed retailer.
