Jack Herer vs. Super Silver Haze: Same Haze Parents, Different Sativa Expression

Jack Herer and Super Silver Haze are both 1990s Amsterdam Haze-family sativas sharing Northern Lights #5 and Haze parents — but a single Skunk difference produces two meaningfully different sativa expressions. Jack Herer is Vermont's most reliably stocked focused creative sativa. Super Silver Haze is the more intense, higher-ceiling option that won the Cannabis Cup three years running.

Trainwreck vs. Pineapple Express: Same Parent, Different Terpene Engine

Trainwreck is the parent strain; Pineapple Express is the offspring (Trainwreck × Hawaiian). The Hawaiian parent did something unexpected — it shifted the terpene profile from Terpinolene-dominant to Myrcene-forward, which is why the two strains smell and feel completely different despite sharing half their genetics.

GG4 vs. Wedding Cake: Same Terpene Order, Different Effect Arc

GG4 and Wedding Cake are the two most commonly recommended evening hybrids at Vermont dispensaries — both Caryophyllene-dominant, both in the 22–28% THC range. The difference is timing and aroma: GG4 hits the body faster and harder; Wedding Cake opens with a longer euphoric window before the weight lands.

Gelato vs. Wedding Cake: Same Dessert Lane, Different Body Depth

Gelato and Wedding Cake are Vermont's two most-compared GSC-family dessert hybrids — both Caryophyllene-dominant, both sweet, both consistently stocked. The difference is body depth: Gelato stays balanced and functional; Wedding Cake builds progressively heavier and runs you toward sleep.

FAQ

Burlington cannabis — frequently asked

Quick answers about buying, possessing, and consuming cannabis in Vermont.

Is cannabis legal in Burlington, Vermont?
Yes. Vermont legalized recreational cannabis through Act 164, and licensed retail sales launched statewide on October 1, 2022. Adults 21 and older can legally purchase, possess, and consume cannabis in Vermont, including in Burlington. The Vermont Cannabis Control Board (CCB) oversees all licensed dispensaries.
Where can I buy cannabis in Burlington, VT?
You can buy cannabis at any CCB-licensed recreational dispensary. Burlington and the surrounding Chittenden County area have more licensed dispensaries than anywhere else in Vermont — browse our full Burlington dispensary directory for addresses, hours, and menus.
What do I need to bring to a Vermont dispensary?
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID proving you are 21 or older — a driver's license, state ID, passport, or military ID all work. Most Vermont dispensaries accept cash and debit (via cashless ATM); credit cards are generally not accepted due to federal banking rules.
How old do I need to be to buy cannabis in Vermont?
You must be 21 or older to purchase recreational cannabis in Vermont. Vermont medical cannabis patients with a valid registry card may be as young as 18 if they have a qualifying condition. Every dispensary visit requires a valid photo ID, every time.
Can I consume cannabis in public in Burlington?
No. Consuming cannabis in any public place in Vermont — parks, sidewalks, restaurants, bars, Church Street, the Burlington waterfront, or inside a vehicle — is illegal. Cannabis can only be consumed on private property with the owner's permission.
Is cannabis delivery legal in Vermont?
As of 2026, recreational cannabis delivery is not legal in Vermont — every adult-use retailer is pickup-only. A delivery-authorization bill has been debated in the Legislature but has not become law, so delivery remains off the table for adult-use consumers. A limited number of registered medical dispensaries deliver to enrolled medical patients only. Check each dispensary's page for pickup hours and online-ordering (reserve-ahead) options.
What are Vermont's cannabis purchase and possession limits?
Adults 21+ in Vermont may possess up to 2 ounces of flower, 10 grams of concentrate, or 500mg of THC in edibles at any one time (limits raised July 1, 2026 under Act 176). These same amounts are the standard per-transaction purchase limits at licensed dispensaries. Medical patients qualify for higher limits.
Are tourists allowed to buy cannabis in Vermont?
Yes — Vermont does not require proof of residency. Any adult 21+ with a valid government-issued photo ID can purchase from a licensed dispensary. However, it is illegal to transport cannabis across state lines, so anything you buy must be consumed in Vermont.

About this directory

Data source. Every dispensary listed here holds an active adult-use or medical retail license issued by the Vermont Cannabis Control Board (CCB). We cross-reference the CCB public licensee list to add new shops and remove any that close or lose their license. Data was last verified in June 2026.

Editorial independence. Featured placements, "best for" callouts, and curated lists are chosen on editorial merit — hours, accessibility, product selection, and verified community reputation. We do not accept payment for placement in any list or ranking. The Mudd packaging partnership on this site is a clearly labelled B2B sponsor relationship; it has no influence on dispensary rankings or reviews.

Corrections. Hours, addresses, and deals change frequently in the Vermont cannabis market. If you spot an error, email [email protected] and we'll verify and update within 48 hours.
