Grease Monkey was bred by Exotic Genetix (Tacoma, WA) from a cross of GG4 (Original Glue, GG Strains) and their own Cookies and Cream (Starfighter F2 × GSC). Both parent strains are Cannabis Cup winners — GG4 swept the 2014 LA and Michigan Cups and the 2015 World Cup for Best Hybrid; Cookies and Cream won the 2014 Denver Cup's Hybrid Flower category.

The aroma is a simultaneous diesel-and-vanilla paradox: GG4's pungent gassy-skunk character upfront with Cookies and Cream's sweet vanilla-and-nutty sweetness underneath. The terpene profile is Caryophyllene-dominant, with Limonene and Myrcene the main secondary terpenes (their exact order varies by batch).

Effects are heavy indica: warm euphoric onset, progressive body sedation, dreamy unfocused mental state, couch-lock at standard doses, and pronounced munchies. At 25–27% THC it sits at Vermont's higher-potency end. Evening and nighttime use only; not appropriate for beginners.
